Field Service Technician

Share Share Email Post Share Casella Construction is seeking to hire a Field Service Technician to join our Maintenance team in Pittsford, Vermont. The Field Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy equipment in the field. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities - Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment, including diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and other mechanical components. - Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on heavy equipment. This includes using ECM (Engine Control Module) diagnostic tools to identify and resolve engine performance issues. - Perform metal fabrication tasks such as cutting, shaping, and welding to repair or modify equipment components. - Provide excellent customer service by effectively communicating with clients, explaining repairs, and ensuring customer satisfaction. - Maintain accurate records of service calls, including work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job. - Source and order necessary parts for repairs, manage inventory of replacement parts, and ensure tools and equipment are well-maintained. - Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Additionally, comply with Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) requirements when working in mining environments. - Travel to various job sites to perform on-site repairs and maintenance, often requiring flexibility and adaptability to different working conditions. - Consult equipment operating manuals, blueprints, and drawings to understand equipment specifications and repair procedures. - Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and lub
